Hunger Games Themed Photo Shoot

Last week I had a really great photo shoot with the fab Gillian Gamble and the gorgeous Ashley Gierlach and Julia Sawatzky from the amazing Blue Angels dance Team. The theme was The Hunger Games and Monarch Butterflys and it was soooooo much fun!!

Here is a few behind the scenes snaps I took of our first model. I used some gorgeous metalic amber paint to body paint down her decolletage and back. I also used an amber eyeshaddow to contour around her face.

Here is Gillians AMAZING photo!!

For the second model we wanted to be slightly paler and more innocent!! I used purple body paint and glitter with silver stenciled over it to create the affect on her neck. I also used a pale pearlescent shimmer over her whole face to give a futuristic glow!

Again Here is Gillians fantastic photo

And finally another of them both together!!!

Wow I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pictures so much, I cant wait to see the rest!!!

Would love to know what you all think!!

Photo shoot with Gillian Gamble and Pretty Things

So last week I had the opportunity to go to St Andrews and do hair and make-up for a photo shoot with the amazing Gillian Gamble for the shop Pretty Things. I arrived a little bit early so had a look around the shop and wow there are so much gorgeous things to buy!! I fell head over heels in love with a purple satchel so I may need to purchase this on my next visit!!

For make-up we went for soft natural looks for both girls to compliment the gorgeous spring clothing and accessories that the girls were wearing.

Here is a sneak peak of Gillians pics which lets face it... are much better than mine!!

What do you think everyone?

Have you been to pretty things? If not, why not!! Go and have a look!!! Try not to fall in love with the purple satchel!! Its mine :)

Human Canvas Body Painting Series

Recently I have really missed body painting, I LOVE it so much but it is difficult to find the time to fit it into my schedule as we are always so busy with boudoirs and weddings. However this year I have decided to really get back into it again.

A few weeks ago I was messing around with my paints when I came across this picture of one of my fave make-up artists Karla Powell I just LOVE it!!  I love when Karla practises her make-up looks on herself!

I really loved the brush strokes on the cheeks and  its inspired me to start painting different brush strokes on myself, using different brushes to create different looks and textures.
I have been wanting to paint people like actual paintings for a while so I started messing around with paint and came up with this...

I loved it, but it was pretty messy so I had a few more practices and then found an amazing model and photographer to work with and off I went!!!

Here is a few snaps I took during on my phone, and underneath is a picture kirsty took during.

I got a huge bit of paper and in about 20 mins threw some childrens paint on it in different coloured brush strokes to match the night before. We used a few drawing pins to put it on the wall and had my model stand in front of it.

Kirsty took some amazing pictures and here they are :)

I would love to know what you all think!!!

Have you ever been inspired by annother make-up artist to create one of your own make-up looks?

Human Canvas Body Paint

So Ive been practicing a bit more for the human canvas body paint I want to do, and I have the first shoot soon so Im pretty excited!!!

Here is the first practice I did, I know its already on the blog but thats ok :)

I really LOVE the colours I used in this, but I think I would like to do a little more black in the shading and I REALLY need to sort the eyebrows out!!

I decided to try another colour scheme so i went with blues

Need to practice a bit more on specific areas!!! CANT WAIT to do the shoot!!

What do you think guys?
